Cremona Music Soul

The Cremona violin making is a tradition deeply rooted in the city, and in 2012 it was declared a UNESCO heritage. The greatest luthiers of the 1600s and 1700s lived in Cremona, among them there is the incredible Antonio Stradivari, the genius. Did you know that even Galileo Galileo also asked the Cremona luthiers for a violin?

The tradition continues in the many luthier workshops in the city center and in the Violin Museum. That is an interactive museum that will lead us into the fascinating world of violin making. Kids love it!

There is not only violin making in Cremona, the city has been the birthplace of important composers, singers and musician such as Claudio Monteverdi, the inventor of melodrama or the composer Amilcare Ponchielli to whom the city theatre is dedicated.

With this tour we will also have the chance to see a master luthier at work in his workshop.

The tour includes: Walk through the historic center (Ponchielli Theater, Stradivari Square, Stradivari's House) and visit to the Violin Museum.

The visit to a luthier workshop has to be agreed in advance.
